Own Your Means of Production

Private property is a good idea. Money is a valuable tools for facilitating trade. Your Linux operating system and your Django websites are your means of production. Own them!

Capitalism is private ownership of the means of production and private control of the means of production. National socialism is private ownership of the means of production, controlled by the state. Marxist socialism is state ownership and control of the means of production.

I am an unapologetic capitalist. I want to own the software on my computer. I recommend that you own the software on your computer.

I prefer the BSD and MIT Licenses over the GPL. I want complete freedom to do whatever I want to with my computer. I’ve thought about switching to BSD and I may try it out in the future, but for now, I’m using Kubuntu and PopOS!.

Ubuntu is one of the most popular Linux distributions and KDE is the prettiest and most user friendly desktop with many graphical user interfaces for new Linux users, who are not very familiar with the command line interface. PopOS! uses the Gnome desktop by default and leads you to learn to use the command line.

Believe it or not, God is the King of every human heart. Individual men are the head of the family. Men and women are equal partners, always have been, always will be. The state is a service that human beings create to serve and protect all of the people under their jurisdiction.

God is the King of every individual human being and the head of the family and the state. God is love. God is the power, flowing in around and through everything and everyone. God makes the rules.

Man made laws are inherently corrupt. We are not authorised to make the rules. That is what the Biblical story about not eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil is all about. We are authorised to terraform earth, from a wild jungle into a beautiful garden, but we are not authorised to make the rules.

Natural law is not man made. The natural laws of human nature are not man made. They are what they are, just like the law of gravity and the speed of light. We can build machines that fly by following the natural laws of aerodynamics. If we try to make arbitrary rules, the plane will fall out of the sky.

Civilization ends every time human beings abandon the natural laws of human nature, the divine rule of law revealed in every true religion on earth. Religion is the spirit that holds humanity together. Abandoning your religion is abandoning your civilization. Religion is the difference between wild animals and civilized human beings.

Voluntary submission to God is the very nature of freedom. Self determination, private property and free enterprise are natural and healthy. Selfish ambition is the darkside of human nature. Selfish ambition is an animal instinct. We all have it. Civilized human beings govern our animal instinct, with the rule of law revealed by God.

If we are going to have privacy and freedom, then we are going to have to have one comman faith. Trustworthiness is going to be an essential aspect of our economy. Be fair. Make sure everyone who trades with you gets a good deal. Seek God.

Seek the truth. At all times and under all circumstances. Take responsibility for yourself and your family. Exercise your self determination, your free enterprise. Unleash your creative freedom.

Find something you like doing and get really good at doing it. Software development is a team effort. Your family is your team. Learn how to use Gimp, Krita, Inkscape and Scribus and RawTherapee or Darktable to create art. Add value to our global cloud of artificial intelligence.

Some of your family may not be interested. That is okay. Help them cultivate their self determination, their free enterprise. The cottage industry scale of business will not be for everyone. We need those big businesses to build skyscrapers and jet planes. Team work is very productive.

Each member of your team will have a diverse assortment of talents and interests. Cultivate them. Use free and open source education to learn how to improve yourself and serve other people in some valuable way. Use your talent to cultivate a big business.

While a big business does require you to work to get it started and keep it going, it earns income automatically, whether you are present or not. It’s a system that you own (Kiyosaki, 1997).

Build a system on your computers that automatically pumps money into your bank account. You’re going to have to use a combination of free and open source software and proprietary software. While Linux is by far the most fun and powerful operating system, there is no Linux smart phone, yet, and most proprietary software will not work very well with Linux.

You have to decide whether to build your business on a free and open source platform or a proprietary one. Do you want your operating system to be a black box, developed by a team of specialists, which you can use to create your art and build your business. Or, do you want complete control of your platform, all the way down to the hardware.

Microsoft and Apple have some really good tools. Apple is probably more compatible with Linux, because Android, MacOS, iOS and Linux are all derivitives of Unix. Microsoft uses an entirely different language and is a very useful and valuable, global cloud of artificial intelligence.

Use Linux to help you break free from the culture of dependence our school are teaching, our businesses are selling and our government is enforcing. Use Duckduckgo, OpenVPN and Tor to protect your privacy and your free speech.

Have fun making the world a better place and always love and obey God.
