Happy Thanksgiving

Thank God the native American people rescued the pilrims. The pilgrims were refugees, fleeing a tyrannical old world order. They came and they worked hard and they created a revolutionary wave of social, cultural and economic progress. Capitalism, democracy and human rights are both the cause and the result of the American Revolution.

Its one of those punctuations in the punctuated equilibrium of the evolution of human nature and civilization. Like the Cambrian explosion, when, after billions of years of gradual evolution of the microscopic organisms floating around in the world’s oceans, thousands and millions of species of life on earth suddenly evolved out of the moss growing along the beaches of the oceans.

After thousands of years of gradual evolution of human consciousness and human civilization, suddenly, we discovered electricity and the world quickly became a small village in a vast universe. Now, we drive cars and fly around in jet planes, instead of riding horses and camels.

The divine education revealed in all the world’s major religions is the energy, the Power, driving this never ending progress of human nature and civilization. Remember, it was Jesus who said, “Seek the truth and the truth will set you free,” more than 2000 years ago. It is no accident that the scientific revolution happened in the midst of Christian civilization.

All of the people of earth are precious. If you see anyone in distress, don’t just stand there, rescue them. That is what I am doing with homeoffice.studio. I’m building a 21st century teaching and learning system, to help as many people as possible to thrive. To help anyone who wants help, to be productive, to be happy, healthy and wealthy.

Pay yourself first. Invest in yourself. Get as much education as you can. There is no such thing as self taught. You learn from the people around you and from the natural ecosystem you live in. Cultivate a holistic perspective. See how everything is related and interdependent. Everyone influences everyone.

One way to participate in this global commonwealth of all mankind, is to get yourself a website and start telling your stories. Start presenting your art. Or teaching your science. Write a lot. Creating content is the first, most important step towards building an attractive and profitable website.

There are a lot of ways to do that. One way, is to build a WordPress website. The hosting company I’m using for this homeoffice.studio project, Bluehost, has a one click WordPress special going on. I can tell you from my own personal experience, it is fairly easy. You sign up, follow a few simple procedures and whalah, you’ve got yourself a WordPress website set up and running in a few minutes.

Be patient. Allow the software to work. You’re not going to be able to do this all at once. Just work on it, often. Work on getting the WordPress all set up right. Look at the plugins.

Automattic is a group of people that produce WordPress and some of the available plugins. Jetpack is Automattic’s big security system for WordPress. They produce many other plugins.

All in One SEO is one of the most popular search engine optimization systems. Monster Insights is the best Google Analytics plugin for WordPress. After I activated all these plugins, I started wondering if they might be redundant and interfere with each other. I emailed Bluehost technical support about it. It was late at night and I wasn’t expecting an answer right away, but a few minutes later someone answered me and said that, all the plugins work well together.

Now, you could do everything yourself. I saw one video about WordPress where the first thing the person telling the story did was delete all the plugins. That gives you a clean slate to work with. And I do tend to like the, “do it yourself” strategy, that’s why I like Linux.

However, I’m working on building a business. This business needs to be profitable to be sustainable. If you are not already rich, then your business must be profitable in order to be sustainable. These plugins will help you get your website up and running fast. No need to reinvent the wheel.

The people who design the plugins are professional computer programmers. Let them help you get your website to shine brightly in our global cloud of artificial intelligence. Be careful. Have a plan. You can start out with the free plugins, I recommend upgrading to Pro as soon as you can.

You need to have 50 to 100 really good stories. Something valuable for your audience. Then you need to start cultivating a stream of traffic. Use your plugins to help you attract an audience. Entertaining education is a good product to offer. Teach your audience something valuable and make it interesting to learn.

Once you start getting a stream of visitors, you can start thinking about monetizing your website. Join some affiliate programs. Commission Junction’s CJ Affiliates is one good way to learn and get started monetizing your website. I was worried about trying to compete with Amazon.com with unknown products and services, but then, I found out that Barnes and Noble has an affiliate program in CJ Affiliates. Commission Junction has some pretty good training for affiliate marketers as well.

Keep producing high quality content. Keep working on your website. Keep learning. Persistence is one of the most important ingredients of success. Neat and clean is a good idea. Don’t clog your system up with a bunch of junk. Keep your file system well organized. Develop a high performance system. Build a high performance Linux operating system. Then create a high performance website. And cultivate a high performance workflow.

Be productive. Be an artist. Be a prolific writer. We have robots doing most of the manufacturing. Learn how to use your computer to produce something valuable and have fun, trading whatever you produce in our one world wide free marketplace.
