Blogging
I’m slowly getting this WordPress website set up and running. I’m doing a lot of research, investigating computer science at edX/HarvardX, Linux Administration and Python Development at Udemy.
I’ve spent the last five years trying to figure out how to build Drupal websites. It was the setting up the local development environment that got so complicated that I decided that it was not practical for most home office based entrepreneurs.
I’ll still be working on building my local development environment. I’m planning on switching from PHP and Drupal to Python and Django. I’m more of a story teller and writer than a computer scientist.
Setting up my computer to be a great writing tool and building websites to publish my stories is just one subject I like to write about.
Once again, I have to get into a rhythm of producing a lot of content. I’ve got to get in the habit of writing every day and not writing about myself. I like to think out loud and sometimes I write about what I’m up to
You can set your blog up and write stories about your favorite subjects. You’ve got to get in the habit of writing on a regular schedule. Quality is more important than quantity.
Writing every day will strengthen your writing muscles, just like exercising strengthens your physical body. Set yourself a goal of a blog post once every week.
Spend most of your time researching your blog posts. Gather the information and any pictures and asides ready. Get any citations you need to give your sources credit for their work.
Work fast. Be thorough. Practice and repetition will help you develop a very productive rhythm. Improve yourself and human nature and civilization.
