Fair Trade
Build your own private home office based computer network and artificial intelligence. I’m going to start exploring and recommending TrueOS with KDE. The main reason I recommend TrueOS for your main desktop computer is the BSD license. Unlike the GNU/GPL, the BSD license does not prevent you from incorporating TrueOS into proprietary software.
The whole reason I started using Linux was to avoid the Microsoft User Agreement. Of course, I do not agree that Microsoft owns the software on my computer. The GNU/GPL is not really all that much better. It requires that no one owns the software.
When I buy a computer, I own the software on the computer and by natural right, can do whatever I want to with it. As long as I’m not committing a crime with it, like stealing, abusing anyone or anything like that. This is a very important idea.
Private property is a universal human right. We should design our economy and our technology to defend our private property and free enterprise, not undermine it. So start moving onto BSD. As of now, I’ve never used it, but I’ve been thinking about it for quite a while.
Get yourself a decent desktop computer and get TrueOS installed. Read the manual. Get familiar with the way it is built. I know it uses the ZFS filesystem, instead of the EXT4 filesystem most Linux distros use by default. Not sure what the significance of that is. If you do decide to use TrueOS or another BSD distro, study it. Learn how it works.
Even though I recommend investigating and learning how your computer’s kernel works, it is really a black box, which you can use to run your desktop and your applications. You don’t really need to know how it does that. So, get your massive, high performance desktop computer set up with TrueOS installed.
I also like System76, because they build high performance computers with Linux installed natively. That’s a pretty significant advantage. System76 has some very high performance equipment and you can build an awesome artificial intelligence ecosystem with it.
The Linux ecosystem is far more advanced than the BSD ecosystem, however, for the benefit of taking ownership of your own private artificial intelligence, use TrueOS. TrueOS is a user friendly version of BSD, which is a good way to get started.
Once you get your system set up, then get your laptops sinced with your desktop. Use some kind of Network File System to get synchronized copies of your file system on all your computers. That way, they’ll be backing each other up. If one of them is lost or stolen, you will have backup, and you’ll be able to work on your projects on any of your computers seamlessly.
Of course, you’ll have to have a strong security system in place. Especially on your laptops. Make sure your computers are protected and your passwords are well managed.
Learn how to use Raspberry Pi to build your own private internet of things. Use your computers to monitor and control your house, your cars and your other appliances, like lawn mowers and swimming pool temperature and things like that. Get it all connected into one private network that you own and control.
You’ll probably be using a lot of Linux. You can control the Linux with your private BSD. Work on getting a BSD smart phone. As far as I know, as of 2020, there is no such thing. There are a few experimental Linux smart phones. It’s going to take time and effort to get this private free and open source ecosystem developed.
Be productive. If you can add value to the ecosystem, then do so. Think about all that intricate jewelry that archeologists find in ancient graves. Who made that? How did they make it? Get to work improving our technology. Build your high performance technology stack with private property and free enterprise built into it.
I’m not opposed to big business. Those teams of very smart people are making things no small business can make. I’m opposed to the culture of dependence that our schools are teaching, big business is selling and our government is enforcing.
The control freaks have managed to steal our government of the people, by the people and for the people and replaced it with government of the people, by experts and for stockholders. Instead of the rule of law, we have the rule of lawyers.
The American Medical Association is just one example of a totalitarian monopoly, driving the cost of health care up and forcing people to comply to one particular model of health care and ruthlessly suppressing any alternatives. Modern scientific medicine, Ayurvedic medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine are all good examples of health care that should work in harmony with each other, rather than competing with each other. Naturopathic Medicine is the best medicine.
Science is a great idea. Jesus said, “Seek the truth and the truth will set you free.” Science is our search for truth about natural history. Religion is our search for truth about spirituality. Science and religion compliment each other. Faith and reason are the Yin and the Yang of our search for truth. Science without religion is materialism. Religion without science is superstition. Either one without the other is a half-truth. Seek the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Break free from the intellectual prison that our schools are teaching. Many years ago, I went to college to learn how to be a drug rehab counselor. I dropped out because I did not want to learn what they were teaching. They were teaching us that because of their education, counselors are superior to their patients, they have a power differential.
Well, I say that that power differential is completely artificial and corrupt. The classical liberal enlightenment and the American Revolution liberated us from any kind of ruling class. We abolished the idea of a ruling class. We abolished the imperial pyramid. All that rank and status and inferiority and superiority. We rebelled against that.
Now, our academy has sneakily replaced the old hereditary and religious aristocracies, with a sinister new one based on academic credentials. Don’t get me wrong. Education is a good thing. Get all the education you can get. Its what the academy is teaching that is sinister and corrupt and oppressive.
Get control of your unruly passion. Take responsibility for yourself. Own your means of production. Build millions of cottage industries, owned and controlled by individual families. And create laws and customs to foster the development of these cottage industries and to protect them from unfair competition from giant corporations.
The corporations and the cottage industries can and should compliment each other. Its not one or the other, its both, working in a symbiotic, dynamic, evolving relationship. Competition will obviously be a feature of any free market system. The competition just needs to be fair. Free trade is fair trade.
Get really good at one or two things and trade that in our one world wide, free and fair marketplace, our one universal commonwealth. Earth is one country. All mankind are one tribe.
