Holistic Home Office starts with one individual working on his or her own free enterprise. Voluntary submission to God is the true nature of freedom. God makes the rules! Self determination, within that sacred, divine and personal spirituality and social ecosystem, is the central motivation for any holistic home office.

Your whole family, and every individual in it, are facets of your holistic home office. Of course, every human family grows around the marriage of one man with one woman. Grand parents and grand kids and aunts and uncles and cousins are all part of the family. Men and women are equal partners, always have been, always will be.

Like a family farm or a mom and pop shop, every member of your family can participate in your family business. At least one parent should remain home and guide the children through an Internet based home education curriculum.

Each person will contribute to your family’s business according to their talents and interests. Some will prefer to work outside the family business and that is okay, we need those big businesses to build cities and jet planes, computers and the Internet.

Your family will be a high performance human resources development ecosystem. Make sure you pray together and study the Word of God together and worship God together as a family. The spirituality of every individual in your family is way more important than any economic activity.

Just like eating, while your career and your economic activity is not the purpose of your life, it is vitally important for every human being alive on earth. You must be productive in order to be healthy, no matter how rich or poor or smart or not very smart or able or disabled you are.

Responsibility means able to respond. Take responsibility for yourself, your family, your nation and our one global federation of self governing nations. One of the most important responsibilities of every parent is the education of children. While public education is a good idea, our public education system has become so corrupt that I recommend some kind of Internet based, home education system, led by parents.

The secular humanism that our public schools are teaching is a sinister half truth. Seek the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. All true religion is inherently humanist. God does not need religion, people do. The one, unchanging, eternal faith of God is for the benefit of all the people who practice it.

Secular is not sacred, not religious. All life on earth is sacred. Every human being is sacred. Nature is sacred. Earth is sacred. Religion is the most primal instinct in human nature. It is the difference between animals and civilized human beings. God is the Cause, religion is the effect. Religion is the cause, civilization is the effect.

If you are not ruled by God, then you are ruled by man, which is a gross perversion of human nature and civilization. I once thought that, “I make the rules in my life,” was a good idea. I’ve learned since then that God makes the rules and I benefit by following the rules made by God and suffer for following my own rules or any other man made rules.

Obeying God involves obeying the laws of the nation you life in. The state is an extension of your family, just like your business is an extension of your family. States are created to serve and protect individuals and families. They are an important feature of human nature and civilization, for the time being anyway. Perhaps, one day, when human nature has advanced to a more spiritual station, the state will be selected for extinction. For now, we need the state to regulate interstate and international trade and commerce well.

Language and family are the yin and yang of human nature and civilization. Language is a set of rules that we follow which enables us to understand each other through oral communications. The divine law of marriage between one man and one woman raising children will never change.

Teach your children to function well within the society you live in. Patriotism is a good attitude. You can be a patriot of your city, your nation and the United Nations. The human race is one tribe.

Get familiar with the ecosystem around you. Learn how to thrive, where ever you are. You can start building your holistic home office with a laptop. Work on getting each member of your family their own laptop or tablet. Work on building your desktop.

You can buy a desktop or build your own. The benefit of buying your desktop is that you get a system made by people who specialize in building computers. The advantage of building your own desktop is that you get the experience of building your own system and will be intimately familiar with every part of it.

Commercial software has advantages and free and open source software has advantages. I think a combination of commercial and free and open source software is the best way to go.

You could build a system that has two separate hard drives, one with commercial software on it and the other one with free and open source software on it. The problem with that is that you would have to log in on one or the other. Having two separate computers, set up so you can be using both of them at the same time, is how to get the best of both worlds.

You’ll most likely switch back and forth. Using one or the other for long periods of time. Different members of your family will probably like different versions.

For the vast majority of people, computers will be the platform or stage that you are working on. Your computers are your tools, which you can use to create artificial intelligence. Add value to the global cloud of artificial intelligence.

You’re going to have to get some kind of health insurance. Shop around and find the best insurance for your family. Since you are not working for a big corporation, you’re probably going to have to pay more for insurance than someone who is. We’re going to have to develop health insurance for home office based entrepreneurs.

Develop a relationship with a legal service, so that when ever you have legal questions, you have a readily available resource you can consult with. Cultivate relationships. Cultivate your business, just like you would cultivate your garden if you have one.

Gardening is a good way to improve your personal and familial ecosystem and your spirituality. Farming is one of the most important careers and businesses. In order to build sustainable cities, we need to grow plenty of food and transport it into the cities. People and goods and services need to be able to flow in and out and through and between cities easily.

Own the means of production. Start cultivating your TD Ameritrade or E-Trade account. Invest in human productivity. I figure that all kinds of carbon fiber technology is going to be a great investment. Like chemicals and plastic were in the 20th century. High speed rail will probably be a good investment in the USA right now.

I like cities. I grew up on a farm near a tiny village named Deaver, in the mountains of Wyoming, population 102. I’ve spent half my life in rural America and half of it in cities, like Denver, San Fransisco, Las Vegas and Seattle. Where ever you live, do not litter. Be kind, friendly and polite. Sustainable cities are beautiful, safe, clean and decent neighborhoods.

Private property is a good idea. Free enterprise is natural and healthy. Make sure that your free enterprise is alive and growing, producing and delivering valuable ideas, art, science, products and or services.

Flow is good for your business and it is good for society. Investigate and understand how the resources and the products and services and the money flows in your business. Just like the inputs and outputs of your garden or the flow of commerce in your sustainable city. Learn how to manage all the various flowing facets of your free enterprise and increase your capital every chance you get, according to the Laws of God.
