Cosmology
One Super Symmetrical Hologram
My own hypothesis about the beginning of natural history is that there is one unified field. At first, it is not doing anything, it is just being. Then, God causes it to move. That change in position during time is the beginning of time. The motion causes an equal and opposite reaction. It all happens instantaneously, causing spheres of yin and yang to emerge into existence. The frequency and dimensions of vibration and spin, determine what kind of quark, lepton, force or particle the sphere is. It’s all Qi, the one unified field, flowing in, around and through all natural history.
I was watching a video about Tesla and the Zero Point Energy Field the other day. The Zero Point Energy Field is a field of energy that is freely available at zero Kelvins, absolute zero temperature. Apparently, a cup full of Zero Point Energy, is powerful enough to vaporize all the water on earth.
Zero Kelvins would be a complete vacuum, because all matter is made out of vibrations. Heat, ie., temperature, are the most primal vibrations. Tesla, and others, propose that that vacuum is full of energy, and that that energy could be the aether, the cosmological constant, the dark energy, causing the observed expansion of the universe to accelerate.
The universe that we can observe directly, the galaxies, stars and planets, is just the foam, floating on top of the ocean of power that the universe is made of.
String theory proposes that the most basic elements of natural reality are strings, vibrating in 10 dimensions. Motion is the change in position over time. The motion of the vibrations cause time. And just like the left and right side of our faces are symmetrical, ie., imperfect mirror images of each other, natural reality is symmetrical.
I think the strings may actually be membranes, between the yin and yang. Just like the marbles I played with as a kid. There was often a blue, green, or red colored sheet between two clear halfs of the marble. The membrane is flexible and vibrates and spins, forming a variety of different particles and forces.
Matter and antimatter are the first symmetrical counterparts. 98% of all the matter and antimatter were annihilated in that initial explosion, the big blast. The entire universe is made out of the 2% of matter left over, as a result of the imperfect symmetry. And like a hologram, regardless of how we divide natural reality, it is always symmetrical.
Quantum Theory describes natural reality on a small scale. Relativity describes natural reality on a large scale. The only way to get the two mathematical systems to add up and balance the mathematical equations, is if there are 9 or 10 dimensions. I’ve read quite a few different numbers, so I think the exact number is not known precisely, at least by me.
As much as I love to study physics and astronomy, and I have attempted to study calculus, etc., I have never been able to fully understand the math. Words are more interesting to me than numbers. I just keep seeking the truth. Nature is fascinating. I’m interested in it and I like telling you these stories about it.
Teaching is a great way to learn. It’s the dialog and the consultation that facilitates understanding. That’s why teachers often use giving reports to the class as a teaching tool. And natural history is an important facet of human nature and civilization.
As regards thine assertions about the beginning of creation, this is a matter on which conceptions vary by reason of the divergences in men’s thoughts and opinions… That which hath been in existence had existed before, but not in the form thou seest today. The world of existence came into being through the heat [emphasis is mine] generated from the interaction between the active force and that which is its recipient. These two are the same, yet they are different. Thus doth the Great Announcement inform thee about this glorious structure. Such as communicate the generating influence and such as receive its impact are indeed created through the irresistible Word of God which is the Cause of the entire creation, while all else besides His Word are but the creatures and the effects thereof. Verily thy Lord is the Expounder, the All-Wise.
(Tablets of Baha’u’llah, p140)
The point, in my opinion and for the purpose of this story, is that heat is vibration. Light is also, another frequency of vibration. God said, “Let there be light,” and there was a flash of light that we call the big bang. The universe is a super-symmetrical hologram.
Physical scientists today have hypothesized the same principle of creation that Moses described 3000 years ago, and Baha’u’llah announced in about 1853 – 1892, that the most primal attribute of natural reality is light, heat or vibration. Perhaps Yin and Yang are the “active force and that which is its recipient.” Everything is made out of attraction and radiance.
Scientists have discovered that at the subatomic scale of natural reality, natural phenomena exist in discrete quanta, rather than a smooth spectrum. One example of a quanta, is the energy state of an electron orbiting an atom’s nucleus.
When an electron moves from a lower state of energy to a higher one, or vice versa, it moves in distinct steps, it moves from one level to the next, without moving through the space between. Which suggests that we may be able to do something similar, in order to achieve some sort of interstellar transportation.
Superstrings are another example of quanta. They are one Planck length long, the smallest distance, 1.6 x 10-33 meters. Planck time, 5.4 x 10-44 seconds, is the time light takes to travel one Planck length (Wiki). The manner, ie., which dimensions, frequency, amplitude, etc., in which individual super strings vibrate, determines what kind of particle or force that particular superstring is. (Wiki)
The most fundamental particles are quarks and leptons, and the forces of interaction between them. Electrons and neutrinos are leptons. There are about 15 different kinds of quarks.
Quarks and Leptons, or perhaps Fermions [particles] and Bosons [forces], are the yin and yang of matter. Relativity and Quantum Theory must be the Yin and Yang of physics! Radiance [heat, light, love] is probably the, “active force,” and attraction [gravity, chemistry, love] is probably, “that which is its recipient.”
I recently discovered the Keshe Foundation and they seem to have some new information about the structure of the universe that I haven’t heard about anywhere else. This new understanding of the relationship between magnetism and gravity apparently opens up the possibility of harnessing the zero point energy, enabling space transportation and many other technologies (Keshe). It may or may not be a good idea.
Quantum Chromo-Dynamics is the science describing the diverse assortment of quarks and how the different combinations add up to different particles. The strong nuclear force, a Boson called a Muon in general and a Gluon in particular, works like a rubber band, ie, gets stronger with increasing distance, holding three quarks together to form a hadron. The type of quarks, determines whether the hadron is a proton or a neutron, etc.
Imagine that everything, all natural reality, is made out of balls of energy bouncing around. The balls of energy are actually vibrating strings, or often times rings. Sometimes, depending on what kind of particles they are, they attract each other and stick together. Other times they repel each other. Sometimes a particle will absorb another particle and either expand or change into a different particle. For example, sometimes a proton will absorb a photon or some other quanta of energy and change into a neutron.
It’s been estimated that the material universe is about 5% normal matter and energy, ie., protons, neutrons and electrons, etc., 23% dark matter and 72% dark energy (Gates 2009). The dark matter can be indirectly detected, by measuring the motion of galaxies and the influence that galaxies have on the light flowing around them. The dark energy is the hypothesized impulse causing the expansion of the universe to accelerate.
I suppose the zero point energy field is the aether, which is the dark energy. The stories I’ve heard, describe it as a very powerful field of energy from which all natural phenomenon arises, and that we can build a variety of antennas and machines to tap into and harness the energy.
Think about what our economy would be like if we could all have easy access to as much free energy as we could ever want. Knowledge is power! Knowing that the energy is there and knowing how to harness the energy to accomplish work is a very valuable human resource, which is being suppressed by certain people who profit from the competition for rare and expensive natural resources.
Thunder and lightning storms are a result of the electrical field associated with earth. We can harness that energy! We know its there and we know that we can harness it. Allowing that science and technology into our free marketplace is a voluntary action. Its up to you. You decide whether to develop your own free and open source energy supply or continue to depend on the filthy, oppressive, hydrocarbon economy.
We have also indirectly detected very massive black holes at the center of many galaxies. There are less massive black holes floating around in the galaxies. The black holes are so massive that not even light can escape their gravitational field. We detect the black holes by the influence they have on the material around them. Apparently, black holes evaporate in certain circumstances.
Gravity, another form of attraction, is a very dynamic field that is constantly fluctuating and in motion, both causing and being caused by the matter and energy that it is a feature of. Matter and energy are just as much a feature of gravity, as gravity is a feature of matter and energy. Its all one big holographic space time continuum.
Time is a feature of natural history. It is a function of motion. Motion is the change in position over time. The vibration of the superstrings, causes time.
In order to balance the “standard model” of particle physics, supersymmetry predicts the existence of weakly interacting massive particles [WIMPs], some of the symmetrical counterparts of quarks, gluons and leptons, etc.
The WIMPs are relatively massive and very difficult to detect, because they interact with other forces and particles with a relatively weak field. The more massive they are, the weaker the field is and the less interactive they are. They just pass right through normal matter like a ghost flowing through a wall.
The fields can be thought of as the medium through which the waves are flowing. It turns out that particles are actually waves of probability, flowing around in the fabric of the cosmos (Greene, 2004).
This relatively difficult to detect, massive material, the weakly interacting massive particles, is predicted by the standard model of quantum physics and manifests itself in the observable universe as dark matter, the unobserved mass that is necessary to explain the observed motion of galaxies (Gates 2009).
In order for galaxies to rotate at the rate they are rotating, for the stars to orbit the core of the galaxies at the rates they are orbiting, the galaxies must be far more massive than the material that we can detect adds up to.
The influence that galaxies, and clusters of galaxies, have on the light flowing around them can also be detected and measured, and indicates that the galaxies and clusters of galaxies are far more massive than the material we can observe directly. (Gates, 2009)
The material universe that we can directly detect and measure, is just the tip of the iceberg. Most of the mass and energy of the natural universe is invisible and can only be detected by observing the influence it has on the matter that we can see.
The Large Hadron Collider [LHC], starting up in Switzerland, is powerful enough to detect the Higgs Boson, a particle that supersymmetry predicts, that somehow gives other particles their mass. It’s one of the least massive and therefore most interactive and detectable of the WIMPs predicted in supersymmetry.
I read the other day that the LHC has indeed detected a Higgs Boson, thereby confirming the validity of the Standard Model of physics and cosmology. When we discover a phenomenon predicted by a theory, it doesn’t necessarily prove the theory. It sure does make the theory more likely to be an accurate description of natural reality.
I just read a story in Scientific American (May, 2014) that says that while the first run of the LHC did detect the Higgs Boson, it failed to detect its symmetrical counterpart, which puts the symmetry facet of super symmetry in doubt and the standard model of “Physics in Crisis.”
The Big Bang
Scientists have detected the phenomenon of the big bang, and an ensuing period of inflation, in which the universe almost instantaneously expanded like an inflating balloon. Starting at 10-43 seconds, the universe was one trillionth the size of a proton. At 10-33 seconds it was the size of a village. In one second it was the size of our solar system and in one minute the universe was the size of our Milky Way Galaxy (Greene 2004).
Another possibility, that I’ve been thinking about recently is that Almighty God, the Central Orb of the universe, always has been, is and always will be radiating the material universe, just like the sun radiates the sunshine. The universe is actually growing, because God always has been creating it and always will be creating it.
“In the beginning,” is referring to the original cause of the universe, not any particular point in time or space. Time is just one of the features of natural reality. Our finite perspective of the universe, flowing out from the Central Orb of the universe, causes natural history to appear to be expanding out from a central point of origin and a beginning of time.
Our observations reveal that the expansion of the universe is the same everywhere in the universe. There is no beginning time or central place in the universe. The empty space between the galaxies is expanding, and that expansion is happening all across the universe.
The cosmic background radiation could be a result of the “heat generated from the interaction between the active force and that which is its recipient. These two are the same, yet they are different. … Such as communicate the generating influence and such as receive its impact are indeed created through the irresistible Word of God which is the Cause of the entire creation, while all else besides His Word are but the creatures and the effects thereof.” (Baha’u’llah, TOB, p.240).
The Word of God creates yin and yang, positive and negative, male and female, attraction and radiance, which is the beginning of all natural reality. Matter, energy and galaxies are just the condensation of the infinite power, the one unified field.
Of course, God is omniscient, always everywhere, so it’s not a perfect analogy, it’s just an alternative explanation of our observations about natural reality. Almighty God says that He is perfectly detached from and independent of His creation. He loves us, but He doesn’t need us. We, on the other hand, do need Him!
The big bang theory hypothesizes a rapidly expanding cloud of quarks, gluons and leptons condensing into a cloud of protons, neutrons and electrons. Which eventually condense into a cloud of hydrogen, helium and lithium.
Hundreds of billions of galaxies came “flying out of a ball of energy the size of a basketball,” (Greene 2004) a tiny fraction of a second after the big bang. At one point the universe became transparent. In another phase shift, the first stars begin to condense out of the expanding cloud of hydrogen and helium.
The material particles are just quanta or waves of energy, vibrating in 9 or 10 dimensions. E=MC2 means that matter is made out of energy. It’s a particular kind of energy, just like ice is a particular phase of water. The particles of the material universe are made out of the explosion of energy that our space telescopes and satellites have been able to detect.
So, our universe is like a sparkling explosion, with very far away and therefor old quasars, and hundreds of billions of galaxies flying apart in a cobweb like structure, with supernovae, pulsars and massive clouds of stardust floating around the space in and around galaxies.
We literally exist within a gigantic explosion of matter and energy. Galaxies are creating stars. Stars are creating more and more heavy material. All sloshing around in an incredibly huge explosion, which is insignificant compared to the Creator causing it.
Apparently, cobwebs are another one of those fractal patterns, like spirals, circles and spheres, yin and yang, trees, and families, tribes, nations and universal civilizations, which reality seems to be made of.
Undisturbed dust particles will naturally fall into a pattern of cobwebs, just like the galaxies throughout the universe, or the strands of DNA, because that is an underlying feature of the structure of reality. The superstring fractal, repeating itself at a larger scale. It involves the electrical charge of the individual particles, determining the relationship between the particles, which causes them to cling together in long strings. Which makes sense, strings are the smallest and the largest structures in the universe.
Another interesting theory proposes that our universe is one of an infinite series of universes. One universe in a multiverse. The universes are like the bubbles of air in boiling water, an infinite froth of matter/energy.
Another story I’ve read (Greene, 2011) proposes that natural reality is like Swiss cheese. The cheese aspect of reality is expanding, or inflating, faster than the speed of light. We cannot travel through space faster than the speed of light. However, space can inflate faster than the speed of light.
As natural reality inflates, holes form in the inflation field, just like the holes in Swiss Cheese. Inflation gradually stops and a universe is created. The inflation observed in the early history of our universe is a result of this gradual deceleration of the inflation field.
From the outside the universes are finite. They have a boundary, the holes in the inflating cheese. From the inside the universes are infinite. They go on forever, because the inflation field around them is expanding faster than the speed of light.
Perhaps the inflation field is that elusive one universal force, that grand unified field, the aether that all natural reality is made of. Gravity, the Strong Nuclear Force, the Weak Nuclear Force and the Electromagnetic Force are all manifestations of the Inflation Field, which decelerates into a universe, every once in a while.
Our universe is approximately 13.7 billion years old. Apparently, because the rate of expansion has changed over time, we can see 41 billion light years in every direction. So, the horizon of our universe is approximately 82 billion light years in diameter. The expanding cob web of galaxies in our universe continues on forever.
It seems to me that if there is a beginning to the universe, the universe would have to be finite. The edge of the universe would be the distance that light could travel in 13.7 billion years. We know that the earth is not the center of the universe, and yet we can see 41 billion light years in every direction. What we see is a uniformly expanding cobweb of galaxies. It looks pretty much the same for as far as we can see in every direction.
Perhaps 41 is just a typo or maybe its a code that really means 14 billion light years? The speed of light is represented with the letter C, indicating constant. It does not change. So, if you are on a ship traveling 50% of the speed of light, would a beam of light traveling along in the same direction as the ship be moving 50 or 100% of the speed of light, relative to the ship. I suppose that is what the Theory of Relativity (Einstein, 1920) is all about. I read that book many years ago and still don’t quite understand all the details.
Space.com says that the observable universe is 92 billion light years in diameter, and according to Space.com, NASA says the universe is flat and therefor infinite.
One distinction that I’m aware of, between the older, verses younger universe, is that all Quasars are very far away and therefore very old. Evidently, Quasars are a facet of our younger universe, which no longer exists. Perhaps they have something to do with galaxy formation.
The farther away two galaxies are from each other, the faster they are moving away from each other. At some point, galaxies will be moving away from each other faster than the speed of light. That cosmic horizon is either 13 billion or maybe 46 billion light years away.
Twin Planets
The first stars were made out of the hydrogen and helium which formed as the universe cooled during the inflation after the big bang. All the elements up to atomic weight iron are made in the thermonuclear reactions within stars. Elements heavier than iron are created in supernovae, exploding stars, spewing stardust all over the place.
These clouds of stardust get pushed around by gravity and shock waves and pretty soon the stardust starts sticking together because of static electricity. The clouds are being sloshed around by shock waves, gravity and sunshine, sometimes becoming more and more hot and dense. Often, the cloud evolves into a whirlpool of material falling into a gravity-well.
Eventually, the in falling material becomes so hot and dense that the thermonuclear reaction ignites in the core of the gravity well and a solar system is born. Stars usually condense out of the clouds of stardust in clusters and are then strewn around the galaxy by the tidal forces generated by the rotation of the galaxy.
When our sun ignited, it blew away a lot of the lighter material around it. The small rocky planets, that have very thin atmospheres, which are located inside the asteroid belt, are remnants of this solar ignition phenomenon and probably the evaporation of the atmosphere caused by the heat of the nearby sun.
The gas giant planets, in the outer solar system, retain a lot of their lighter material; hence they’ve evolved into gas giant planets. Gravity is so intense in the center of these gas giant planets that hydrogen is sometimes a metal!
The evidence of ancient water erosion on Mars is a clue about the ongoing evolution of the chemistry and geology of our solar system in time. I read a story many years ago that mentions that the chemistry of our solar system also changes gradually, the farther away from the sun we measure. For example, the Voyager spacecraft discovered that H2O is common in the orbital range where the earth revolves around the sun. In the orbital range around Uranus and Neptune, F2O [Fluorine] is more common.
I’ve seen a picture of earth, as I’m sure most people have by now, taken from the camera on Pioneer 11, as it was leaving the solar system. Earth is a dim star, embedded in a visible disc of material. I’ve also seen a picture of earth, taken from one of the rovers driving around on Mars.
We figure the Earth and moon were formed during a cataclysmic collision between two planets. Most other moons in our solar system were either formed in the gravity field or captured by the gravity field of the planets they orbit.
We can figure this out, by measuring the rotational momentum of Earth and its moon. There is no way the earth could have captured the moon. The moon is just too large, relative to the earth.
The story I read about this, The Origin of the Moon (Hartmann, 1986), says that the orbital and the rotational momentum of the earth and its moon could only be created by a glancing impact that increased the rotation of earth and left a cloud of debris orbiting earth that both bombarded earth for several million years and coalesced into the moon.
We’re talking, red hot molten rock exploding in space. After several million years most of the material had fallen into the double gravity wells orbiting each other. Lunar craters, visible on the surface of the moon, attest to the violence of this planetary accretion process. The moon probably influences the evolution of life on earth by sweeping up most incoming debris, and by causing the tides in earth’s oceans.
These balls of matter act just like the balls of energy, falling into this spiraling formation of galaxies and solar systems, just like atoms with a nucleus surrounded by a cloud of electrons. They’re all following the rules, the underlying patterns in the structure of natural reality, just like language, and even thought, arising from the rules of grammar and civilizations arising based on the underlying structure, the rule of law, of human consciousness. Its all fractals of the one underlying reality, created by the one true God.
Earth and its moon formed between 4 and 5 billion years ago. We can determine this by measuring the ratio of certain isotopes of different elements, which decay from unstable to more stable isotopes at known rates, starting when the material the elements are constituents of formed, ie., rocks, fossils etc.
Earth is like a pebble compared to a massive boulder in relation to Jupiter, which is heavier than all other planets in our solar system combined. Jupiter is like a small rock compared to the sun. And our sun is like a speck of dust compared to the largest star, VY Canis Majoris, which we’ve observed so far.
There are about 500,000,000,000 [500 billion] stars in the Milky Way Galaxy; and hundreds of billions of galaxies, flying apart in a gigantic expanding cobweb. Our universe is a sparkling explosion of energy and matter.
These galaxies are immense clouds of stars and star dust and gas with gravitational fields and shock waves stirring them all up. You’ve probably already seen the pictures of colliding galaxies that, even though they are dense clouds of stars, pass right through each other with very little physical contact, other than the gravitational influence they have on each other. Cameras are amazing machines, especially when connected to a microscope or a telescope.
