Focus your attention and your activity on producing valuable content. You’ve got to start generating income from your effort. You’ll need something valuable to trade in order to earn income.
Work on gathering a set of tools. At least two computers and two websites and the applications on your computers. Start collecting a library of technical manuals. Read them.
Study the full stack of artificial intelligence you are building. Linux, LXD, Git, SSH, and all your web development software. Study your Bluehost platform and WordPress. Get familiar with HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP and Python.
Learn how to use ZSH and Vim. Get them set up the way you like them. Experiement. Learn how to use Kontact, Konsole, Dolphin and FirefoxDE. If you’re like me, you are going to be doing this over and over again. Beware of choking your system up with too many unnecessary applications.
Calligra is your office productivity suite. Calligra Sheets is probably going to be the most useful app. Use it to create financial documents for your business. Use Calligra Words to produce ebooks that you can sell on your websites.
Work on getting your printer connected. Doing the research to get your computers connected to your other hardware is part of the Linux experience. Learn how to do it. Get your printer working and then work on getting your computer connected to your TV, so you can display your computer’s screen onto your TV.
Get yourself a comfortable office chair and desk to work in. Sometimes, you can use your lap desk, sitting in your comfortable recliner. After all, working in the comfort of home, is one of the advantages of developing your own home office based free enterprise. Make sure you build a comfortable and ergonomically efficient work space.
Practice Qigong every day. Take care of your skeleton and your muscles. Nice long walks are another good way to keep from getting physically weak from inactivity. Sitting in a recliner is nice and comfortable for a limited amount of time. Sitting in one for days is not good for you.
You can read in your recliner. Write at your desk, sitting in a reasonably comfortable chair. Eat natural whole food, not so much processed food. Exercise. Take care of yourself.
Focus your reading on Linux administration, HTML, CSS and Javascript, then investigate Python and PHP. Learn how to build your local development environment with LXD, Git, PostgreSQL and Nginx. Learn how to connect your local development environment with your remote servers, with SSH and Bluehost.
You’re going to be using WordPress, Django and Drupal to build websites. They are web development frameworks and content management systems that you can use to build your custom website. Use SCSS, Zurb-Foundation and Vue to make your website beautiful and functional. No need to reinvent the wheel by building a website from scratch. You can do that if you want to. I like building on the work of other developers.
Speaking of working with others, take good care of your family. I’m single and have no children. I still encourage you to build a family owned and operated free enterprise, just like a family farm or a family owned and operated store. Work together as a team. If one, or even all, of your family members are not interested in your business, then that is okay, encourage them to be successful in whatever career they are interested in.
Just make sure everyone is being productive, one way or another. Productivity is a vital aspect of human nature and civilization. Unproductive people are unhealthy people. And they are parasites on our community. Even handicapped people can find a way to be productive.
Contribute something valuable to society. Create prosperity for you and your community by being productive. Get rich by giving, not taking. Think about how you can serve your spouse, your parents and kids. What value are you adding to our community?
