Journal 6/11/25

Well, I’m working on improving my productivity in my home office. I recently updated my smart phone to Samsung S25 Ultra. I added this Samsung S10 tablet and I’m working on getting it integrated into my workflow.

I figure that writing these journal entries is not very attractive, in an SEO sense, but it gets me into the flow of writing. And I’m learning how to use a variety of new tools.

KDE’s Plasma Desktop has a lot of my favorite tools. Now, I’ve added this Android device and I’m learning how to use a whole new set of tools. A lot of the new tools are cross platform. They are just new to me.

The Obsidian note taking tool is installed on all my machines. I haven’t started using it yet. I’ve never really been much of a note taker. I usually just read whatever literature I’m studying as fast as I can. I figure the more I read, the better. It may be a good idea to slow down and concentrate and study the literature more thoroughly.

I’m writing this particular story in the text editor Jotterpad. This is the first time I’ve used it for anything. So far, so good. I think I have a pretty good set of tools installed on this tablet. I’m turning it into a mobile writing tool. Be careful about not overloading it with too much software.

Use xAI and ChatGPT to help you do your research. Zotero is a program that can help you keep track of your sources and build bibliographies. I have never used it, yet. I’ve been doing my bibliography manually. I will start using Jotterpad, Obsidian and Zotero to help me improve my productivity.

Jotterpad feels like a really excellent writing tool. I haven’t done anything with it, other than write this article. It just feels comfortable. The website says I can write in plain text, Markdown and even Latex, so it may turn out to be a very valuable tool. Obisian will help you improve your research and Zotero will help you automate your bibliographies.

Write blog posts in Jotterpad, rather than writing them directly into the Gutenberg editor. Write the posts in Jotterpad and use Gutenberg AI to add images. I’m not sure if the AI is WordPress or Kadence, the theme of my website. WordPress is the content management system I’m using and Kadence Pro is the WordPress theme I’m using. They are both very excellent and constantly improving tools.

I just noticed that the keyboard shortcuts for copy and paste work in Jotterpad. Thats Good. I guess it makes sense, that is a fairly elementary capability for text editors. There is also a word and character counter displayed by default. That is very handy.

My audience is going to be people like me, who are self-motivated and self-directed to try to figure all this out. College educated programmers will probably think I am asking and answering pretty simple questions. I do have a world class education, so anyone can learn new things from me. I’m just not very expert in computer science, yet.

541 words seems like a short blog post. I like writing 1000 word posts. It depends on what you are writing about. If you are writing inspirational content, you may want them to be short. This website is full of entertaining education about all kinds of home office technology, business and culture.

Take good care of yourself. Eat healthy whole food, not processed food. Take time to pray and meditate and exercise. Ho’o Pono Pono and Qigong are two of my favorite exercises. Ho’o Pono Pono is more like a healing mantra, rather than a form of execise.

Have fun selecting applications and using them to create something valuable. Eating is not the purpose of life on earth, but you do need to eat to live. Create something valuable to other people and trade it in this 21st century communications system.

The global cloud of artificial intelligence is a baby. It is just learning how to function. It is an extension of human consciousness. Scientists have discovered that monkeys and humans both perceive a tool they are using as an extension of their selves.

Humans perceive a car they are driving as an extension of themselves. Not so for a car they are riding in. We are all connected to each other, to nature and to the habitat for humanity we are all living and working in.

Just think how much artificial intelligence is going to amplify our intellectual abilities. Just like any other technology, AI is amoral. It’s not immoral, it is amoral. The people using it determine whether it is productive or destructive.

Our technology is getting so advanced and powerful that we are going to have to unite all the people of earth into one universal commonwealth, in order to not demolish life on earth. We need to gradually and peacefully teach everyone to love and respect everyone.

Humans are terraforming earth, from a wilderness into a beautiful garden. Build lots of smart building that are strong and beautiful and clean. Create a safe, clean and decent society. Pick up the garbage. Stop creating so much garbage. Mow the grass and pull the weeds. Sustainable cities are our 21st century pueblos.

Managing our natural habitat and our habitat for humanity is a valuable skill. Find a niche for yourself, something you like doing. Get really good at a few things. And then trade your expertise in our one universal commonwealth.

Keep working. Express your creativity in productive ways. Exercise your creativity. Produce valuable content and present it in an attractive format.
